Hi and welcome to the website of the first friday film club. The first friday film club is an independent film club that started as an initiative of Dublin City Council Arts Office in conjunction with local residents of the South East Area of DCC and it is supported by access>CINEMA. The current fffc project coordinator is John Maguire and Lynn Fitzpatrick is the current film programme coordinator. Our email address is fffcupdate@gmail.com

The“first friday film club”  currently runs on a voluntary co-operative basis and invites others to join in  the organisational activities of the club. It
is held on the first Friday of every month  (or as near as possible) and screenings can be subject to change. Screenings are held upstairs in the Fletcher Room in  Christchurch,  Rathgar at 14.00 p.m. usually on the first friday from Sept to July  (no screenings on the first friday in January or in August). This room is wheelchair accessible via the lift. The venue is serviced by the 14, 15, 15a, 15b, 83, 18, and the 65 and 65b bus routes and there is the possibility of parking your car on the grounds.

The club has been running since the summer of 2008 and we organised our first season of film screenings in September of that year.

This year will see a varied programme of International films and associated events and whenever possible we invite associated speakers to introduce the films.
We also promote the literary connection between a film and the book it is based on where possible.

Refreshments are served at each screening and this a chance to get to know other members, discuss the film and get involved in the organisational activities of the club. The club runs on a membership basis of €30 annually for a minimum of 10 films and a guest membership of  €4 on the door at each screening.
