Catalan Films By Director Lambert Botey

Catalan films: Heaven (2009), a short film with English subtitles re-imagining the bombing of Granollers in 1938
Based on a short story by Lara Ullad and set in La Garriga. Between the Creek and the Train Tracks, a silent film showing the process and work of sculptor Carles Vives in the urban area of Canovelles (Barcelona).  
This is a special event showcasing the work of  Lambert Botey, Manager of the Filmmakers of Granollers (founded in 1995) and member of Granollers Cine Club. Each film will be introduced and followed by a discussion of the filming process There will also be an imput on the Granollers Cine Club, which is run on a co-operative basis and was voted best cine club in Catalonia this year.

In the spirit of our international partnership we will screen a short non-narrative film Duncaoin by the director, Lanka Haouche Perren. This film in contrast, is set in rural Ireland and is an evocation of an artist and a place, with original music and a poem for the narration. The director, Lanka Haouche Perren, describes it as follows: A 7 minutes non-narrative documentary exploring the work & methods of the renowned Irish artist Maria Simonds-Gooding who has been based in Dún Chaoin, Co. Kerry, Ireland, for the last 40 years. It features a poem by award winning poet & writer David McLoghlin, narrated by Dominic West.
